Hello! I’m Emily Purry—a legally blind athlete, keynote speaker, and founder of Purry Consultants. Diagnosed with Stargardt disease in childhood, I’ve navigated the world with limited vision, turning challenges into opportunities. Surfing has been more than a sport; it’s been a therapeutic journey that has reignited my spirit and athleticism.
In June 2025, I have the incredible opportunity to try out for Team USA Surf. This isn’t just a personal milestone; it’s a chance to represent the blind and disabled community on a national stage, advocating for inclusivity and breaking barriers.
Surfing has profoundly impacted my mental health, offering a sense of freedom and empowerment. It’s a testament to the idea that with the right support and determination, we can redefine our limits.
As the Chapter President for AmpSurf – Pacific Northwest, I work to promote adaptive surfing, helping individuals with disabilities experience the transformative power of the ocean.
Our Goal: $15,000
To make this dream a reality, I need to raise $15,000 to cover training, travel, equipment, and other expenses related to the Team USA tryouts.
